About Carmel

carmelconway8.jpg "Since I was a child I have loved all the different styles of singer and singing. My first recollection of singing was at my grandmother’s house where my Aunt would play her selection of records. Her house was a place I could sing along to artists as diverse as Neil Sedaka, Blondie and The Carpenters. We would also have great fun dancing to the disco classics of ABBA and The Bee Gees.

But although I loved pop and contemporary, I also learned to love classical music. Some of my favourite classical singers are the amazing Pavarotti, Domingo, Kiri Te Kanawa, Lucia Popp and Tebaldi to mention a few.

Basically, I love all kinds of music and singing and would never box myself in – music is infinite! I see wonderful singers emerging all the time and it really doesn’t matter to me what they sing as long as it’s performed well, with honesty and feeling."
